Making New Year’s Resolutions? Not me!

Angelina Jolie once said “People say that you’re going the wrong way when it’s simply a way of your own.” and her statement matches my thoughts when people ask me about my New Year’s resolutions.

I don’t make resolutions. Why set myself up to fail? My doctor and my dentist keep my health on course. I work hard to spend our income wisely while striving to save a little money. I work from home so changing jobs will not improve my life. I am a writer.

I spent over twenty years working in retail. I spent nearly a decade as a well-educated, highly stressed 9-1-1 emergency medical dispatcher. After years as an EMT and volunteer firefighter in a small town, I keep looking for avenues where I can volunteer my services.

The year 2015 is upon us. All I can do is strive to do the best I can. The only ‘resolution’ I might quote to y’all is that I plan to release three full-length books in 2015. I will also visit with bloggers, offer goodies as prizes, and hope that a reader will give back to me by posting a review of one of my many books.

If some of my readers find time to make and follow New Year’s resolutions, do it if doing so makes you happy. Remember, do it FOR YOU.

Here is a recap of the books I have published in 2014:

  1. You’re releasing three novels this year? Seems to me that should get you off the hook for any other resolution you could make! lol Sounds like a lot of work.

    • I released three last year, and am fortunate to have some wonderful editors helping me. I do my own covers and uploading, since my two small publishers closed their doors. I will also continue to submit work to various publishers. I do believe in publishers, but until I get my big break, I will keep writing for me!
